It's like anything else, though. Few people start things expecting to fail.

The problem is that there are so many things it takes to be successful, and, if you want to make a living as a blogger, you have to do well at all of them. You have to be able to set up the blog and manage it, and that includes plug-ins and so on. (And, as you can tell, I still haven't gotten the Top Commentators plug in to work!) You have to be able to write good content, and do so on a regular basis. Then, you have to be able to promote the heck out of it, which includes visiting other blogs and offering decent comments and not just comments designed to get you a link. Then, you have to be able to manage all your affiliate programs and advertising programs and so on.

So, there is a lot of work to do. You can't just start a blog and expect people will miraculously find it and come in droves!
