Blog Goals
As I mentioned earlier, my goal for the end of the year is $300,000. For tracking, I have added this to my sidebar where it will show the progression toward meeting the goal.
I have also added a short term goal, which is $5,000 for the purchase of a new computer and software. This is also shown in the sidebar.
To aid in the short term goal, I have changed the “Buy me a soda” link to a link to make a voluntary payment in support of this blog, so that I can meet that short term goal. ![]()

What sort of income streams are you going to be focusing on?
Ads and products.
Thanks for stopping by!
i like that its original. i have a buy me a cappucino link. I will contribute something pretty soon. cheers
Thanks! The Buy Me a Beer plugin is pretty easy to customize. You can either just change the “beer.gif” to something else, or edit the PHP to allow more options. Right now, I can choose from beer, coffee, soda or a computer.
How are you generating income from this blog? You are trying to meet your goal of making $300,000 from this blog, right? Is “Buy me a Soda” plugin only source your of income at this moment?
Thanks for stopping by.
This blog currently has ads and the “Buy Me a Beer” plugin.
My goal is to make $300,000 from all my combined Internet ventures, not just this blog.
How are you generating the income from this blog? I don’t see any monetizing vehicles on your blog. Are you only relying on “Buy me a Soda” plugin for realizing your goal of making $300,000 at the end of this year?
Well, if I could get 2% of my visitors to contribute $1 and then get 15,000,000 visitors by the end of the year, the plugin would be all I would need.
I look forward to seeing that remaining number hit 0 so you can achieve your goal! I think I mentioned in another post that I’m aiming a little lower on the income scale than you are. That being said, I’d appreciate it if you’d buy me a $100,000 worth of coffee! (So I can stay up late and keep writing great content)
PS. This offer is open to anyone on the web. I will provide a purchase receipt so you can claim it as advertising - because you know that I will write all day and night about how happy I am! That’s a sweet $30,000 tax receipt.
Does it count if I buy $100,000 worth of coffee at its wholesale price and ship it to you?
Thanks to Phil, I am $1 closer to the goal now!
Hey, maybe we should all pool together and see if we can get Donald Trump or somebody to buy a million dollars worth of advertising spread across our blogs? Maybe some of the Presidential candidates would like some ads? They have money to spend.
Hmmm, I just had an idea, not related to the advertising but…
It is good that you have set a goal and are committed to attaining it. I admire that.
Thanks!
I’m still hoping you achieve your goal! Make sure and stop by for the teleconference with Jill Koenig, myself, and my readers tonight if you get a chance. We’ll be addressing goals like yours!
Sorry I wasn’t able to stop in. I hope it went well for you!
I’m trying to find the rest of your “combined Internet ventures” on your blog. But I still unable to spot any. Do you interconnect your online ventures? or They are operating individually?
They are interconnected, but not to this blog yet. I am doing a major overhaul of my main site, and I haven’t been doing an active promotion of it until the overhaul is finished. Other ventures are still in progress, but I will mention or link to many of them once they are ready to open their doors.
This concept is solid! I’ve always believed that having a definite goal is the first step to becoming successful. Best of luck! I’m sure you’ll achieve that goal! (and when you do, maybe you can buy us a beer too!)
