Not So Secret

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
–Mark XI:24

By thought, the thing you want is brought to you. By action, you receive it.
–Wallace D. Wattles

When you make a failure it is because you have not asked for enough. Keep on, and a larger thing than you were seeking will certainly come to you.
–Wallace D. Wattles

Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.
–Napoleon Hill

There has been much ado as of late about “The Secret.”

But, calling it “The Secret” is more a marketing ploy than a realistic description. It is no secret. It hasn’t been whispered among an elite few from generation to generation. It has been right there in the open all along, as the quotes above show.

The only secret is that there is no secret. Success requires thought and hard work.

Thought alone will not help you. Wishful thinking and daydreaming of riches and glory will never amount to anything more than that.

Hard work alone will not achieve success. Plenty of people work hard each and every day, yet never rise far above their position.

Success takes thought plus action. Neither alone will achieve success.

Think. Act. Achieve.

Or, perhaps it might be better said:

Believe. Act. Achieve.

Remember, BAA! Whenever you lose your way (like a lost sheep), remember to BAA!

I agree. I was somewhat disappointed by the way the movie used historical figures to get the point across. You could also look at, “The Secret,” as being just one big marketing ploy. Then again, it may have given a lot of people hope and renewed their integrity.
I think action relies solely on thought. You cannot physically move your body without thinking about it on some level. In the same respect, you cannot change your life without first thinking about the change. The interesting thing about the, “Law of Attraction,” is that it emphasizes the feeling that you want to accomplish in the end rather than the end goal.
My personal experience with the entire process has been completely positive. If you think positively about the world around you, you will only see or focus on positive things. The same goes for items or money.
For example, let’s say that you truly believe that you need $100,000. First you would focus on what it will feel like to have that money. Next you will find a way to get there by accommodating your life to that feeling. But if you have doubts, you will spend all you time worrying about the money rather than achieving it.

Excellent! I feel so unworthy. But, I now have some measure of immortality. Just don’t lose the book. 😉

By the way, since it’s offline, you don’t get points for it. Just a friendly reminder, in case you were getting any ideas. 🙂
