Award-Winning Blog

You are now reading an award-winning blog!

This past week, I have received two awards. I feel so humbled!

First, Ann of A Nice Place in the Sun awarded me the “Totally Fabulous Award” for being “fun, cool, and of course Totally Fabulous!” This award was created by Ann of A Nice Place in the Sun and Christy of Totally Fabulous!

I’m Fabulous Award

Thanks Ann!

And, just yesterday, I was awarded the Blogging Star Award by Erina Hart. This award was created by Barb of Skittles’ Place and is “for bloggers who shine their light throughout the Blogoshere. Some do it with humor, others with creativity, and others with their kind and thoughtful natures.”

Blogging Star Award

Thanks Erina!

For both of these awards, it is suggested that I pass them along to other deserving bloggers. I will mull over my choices, and present them hopefully later this week.

Why is this Linkbait?

Awards are a sneaky way of getting more incoming links to your blog. You’ll notice that the award creators encourage you to pass the award along and to include a link to their blog. So, creating awards is a pretty good idea from a blog marketing perspective.

But, the awards are also a good way to reward bloggers that you think deserve one. Plus, you get, ahem, a linkback!!!

It is a win-win all around. The recipient is happy to receive the recognition, as well as an incoming link. The presenter is happy to reward a blog they enjoy, plus they will likely get an incoming link from you. The award creator gets linkbacks from both the recipient and the presenter, hopefully, so a double effect there.

Everyone benefits, which makes the awards pretty cool. Plus, don’t forget that the presenter chose you specifically, when they could have chosen any number of blogs. Just because something may be linkbait doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad thing!

I am happy to have received the awards, and I hope my upcoming recipients will be as well!

Thanks everyone!

I had a tough time deciding on which bloggers deserve the awards too. I think I may have to create my own award to award those bloggers that deserve some kind of recognition, but weren’t my chosen recipients of these two.
