The Leaves that Shall Bury the Flowers

“Where are the flowers, the fair young flowers,
That lately sprang and stood
In brighter light and softer airs,
A beauteous sisterhood?
Alas! they all are in their graves;
The gentle race of flowers
Are lying in their lowly beds,
With the fair and good of ours.
The rain is falling where they lie,
But the cold November rain
Calls not, from out the gloomy earth,
The lovely ones again.”
from “The Death of Flowers”

I’ve been meaning to say, I like the fragility of this photo…and how it’s emphasized by faded coloring.
Thanks. I did cheat a little bit. The photo is actually a winter photo, so the leaves were quite fragile at that point. I did the photo in a pale orangish-brownish color to give it more of a November feel. I’ve been experimenting a bit with using duotones to accentuate and even define the mood of a photo.
