Moments of Thanks and Recognition

I was hoping to do this at a time when I’d have something more to go along with it, but I guess some things will have to remain in the dark for now, until I can get them off the backburner and get them moving again.

In the meantime, I just wanted to send out some recognition and thanks to a couple people that have helped me with a special project.

Matthew Laznicka
Matthew does pretty much all the illustrations on my websites and other projects that I don’t do myself. And, that’s a good thing, because many of the characters I use I could never have drawn as well as what he does. At least not without many, many years of practice, which would mean many more of my projects would not be completed! Once I reveal my revised eCommerce site to the world, you will see a much greater variety of his work (plus some of my own). He did the illustration of me that you see on my blog. (Though I colored me and animated me.) Matthew also has a MySpace page.

T. J. Marlatt
A couple years ago, T. J. Marlatt of RedTail Studios did the theme music for my special project. It’s unfortunate that this project is still on my backburner, because he really put together an excellent piece of music. He also has a MySpace page.

Since their work has yet to see the light of day, and since no one can yet see what they did, I just wanted to give them some degree of recognition for their excellent work. In fact, it is partially because their work was so good that the project has been pushed to the backburner. You see, I really want to up my game so that the whole project does justice to the work they’ve done.

I worked with both of them and, as with probably any project, there were some minor revisions as we went back and forth, but most were relatively minor. I cannot full express how pleased I have been with the final result.

I’d also like to thank the writers at the Writers-BBS forums, some of whom critiqued portions of my work. Doug will get the link, because he’s the only one whose blog URL I can remember. ;-)

I’d also like to thank Michelle R. Rasey and S. J. Reisner, both of whom gave me some valuable feedback (I think–who can remember after all this time!) on this project.

Special thanks too to Robert T. Jeschonek, Mike Aragona and Don Webb of Bewildering Stories, with apologies to anyone I may have missed.

Do you know how large my slush pile has grown since then? ;-) For two Halloween’s in a row, I’ve thought, before this Halloween

I’m curious — how did you meet Michelle? Through me, somehow?
