Here’s to the Crazy Ones

Being a “motivational” blog, should I even post articles that reek of self-doubt, such as that which I posted earlier today?

Common sense would dictate that you’d be crazy to do that.

But, I think differently.

I don’t know about you, but I sometimes find it difficult to identify with people that are constantly “hyped” all the time. You’ll see professional motivators, urging you on, telling you to believe in yourself, and pushing you to achieve your goals.

And, it motivates you. And you power through your self-doubt, and you try to force yourself to believe in yourself.

But, at some point, things may come crashing down or not go as well as you expected, and you feel like a failure. But, the professional motivators will be out there, telling you to believe in yourself, pushing you forward.

You grow to resent it. How can anyone be happy all the time? You can understand that maybe it took a while for them to get that way, to achieve their goals, but while you’re struggling and they’re not, it’s difficult to relate to them.

It’s easier to identify with someone who has had the same self-doubts that you have. You feel that they really know what you’re going through, as opposed to the successful person whose days of self-doubt have been long since left out to pasteurize.

So, that’s my logic there. Not to try to put on a fake, albeit virtual, smile and happy face, but to let you know you’re not alone.

How will things work out? I guess we’ll both have to wait and see, but I just wanted to explain the thinking behind my process.
