Links o’ the Week
Original Blogger Jorn Barger says a true weblog is a “log of all the URLs you want to save or share.” So, here’s mine! (Including the link you just passed…)
Shuffle - Beware, this can be addictive. It’s a definite productivity killer. Perhaps I shouldn’t share it; just delete it, no? Nah, you have self-control, right?
AOL News ad - Viral video that’s funny. Also very viral. I shared it, see how that works?
How to edit photos for the web in three minutes. Start your stopwatch!
Are we evolving faster? We might be becoming more different than alike. Could explain why Doug thinks he’s a hobbit.
Does Hollywood churn out a lot of, ahem, waste matter? One writer gives his thoughts. (Language warning!) And, yes, the link is a couple weeks old–I’ve been busy!
Multiple Independent Discoveries. Notice how Nina a.k.a. The Alien Next Door responds to my post responding to her post? Jon even got a mention for his part. But note how she uses an example from her recently released new book. Clever marketing. See how she worked in a product she is selling into a hot topic? Okay, maybe it was only hot among a small circle of half a dozen people, but you see how you can apply that, don’t you? And, don’t forget to check out her book.
Great military deceptions. Nothing like hiding in plain sight! And, yes, this link’s a couple weeks old too, but the photos are even older. So, it’s a timeless link.
Water from thin air. Okay, humid air but still it looks neat. The Culligan men are running, crying home to their mommies.
What a cat does in zero gravity? Perhaps the cat would be less scared if you weren’t throwing him against the wall, zero gravity or not!
Preventing spam without using captcha. Haven’t tried this. Not sure I need it now with Akismet working.
How to grow a pineapple. I’m trying this now. Only have one top to try though. If it works, I’ll post about it in the future. If not, I’ll delete remove all evidence I ever tried and we’ll never speak of this again.
99 Resources for Web 2.0 Design. Also a few weeks old. Again, I’ve been busy.
Scientists urge world to do nothing about global warming.
Jon writes about the dangerous and irresponsible mainstream media. He also wants everyone to wish Liz a happy birthday. Happy Birthday!
Rolando makes a surprise visit, but to Jon’s blog, not his own.
Joanne is either on hiatus or in Japan or both. Either way, she is content but not satisfied.
Jorn Barger also warns “if you have more original posts than links, you probably need to learn some humility.” So, I’ll say no more.

Hey DCR, thanks for the link love. I’m semi-back and with a new site - http://hushspace.blogspot.com I decided to separate my family blog and make a personal blog. My family blog will only be for family updates and pictures and my personal for everything else, but especially for bloggers.
Why do I feel like I need to whisper–even to myself–when I type your new blog’s name?
The funny thing is that I just registered a new domain name for a new blog, and then I check my comments and see that you’ve started a new blog. Okay, maybe not funny, but well-timed.
Haha, I guess that was the intent, to set their expectations before coming to the site. Shhhh be very very quiet.
What’s your new blog going to be about?
I’ll have a blog post later in the day that’ll tell you what it’s not going to be about as well as giving hints as to what it will be about. Launch day will be “soon” but I don’t have an exact date yet.
[...] write something up. So much for that! Too bad I didn’t see it before yesterday’s “Links o’ the Week” post; I could have slipped it in [...]
[...] I mentioned in my reply to Rolando’s comment earlier today, I had just registered a new domain name for a new blog. [...]
Well, I thought I was being clever…but I really didn’t think anyone else would, dcr!!! Thanks for the favor back… LOL
