What’s Waiting at Home for You

Hopefully not this guy! I don’t think you want to meet up with him in a dark alley, or your home.
This one was modeled in Silo and rendered in Carrara. The room scene is an included scene with Carrara 5 Pro. The head was completely created by me, so don’t blame anyone else for it.
In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m still learning Silo. I have a 30-day demo, and I think I have 27 days left to give it a good whirl and see if I want to buy it. Liking it so far, just a matter of learning it.

haha .. Dan:
How come you are leaning the 3D animation?
I was an animator for years using 3D Studio Max, Maya and Lightscape for 3D game.
I am looking forward to see the face ….
Keep it up!

Ha! I’m doing everything the opposite of you! Deja vu! We’ve had this conversation before, on web design or something I think it was.

I’m looking at Silo for modeling and EIAS for the animation. Maya looks nice, but is way too expensive for someone starting out. From what I’ve read, 3D StudioMax is more geared toward games than video work. I also looked at LightWave, but I’m leaning more toward EIAS.
I’m wanting to use them to create web videos and DVDs.
This guy is reminiscent of Jar-Jar. Maybe it’s the eyes.
