Ha!  I'm doing everything the opposite of you!  Deja vu!  We've had this conversation before, on web design or something I think it was.

&lt;i&gt;I was an animator for years using 3D Studio Max, Maya and Lightscape for 3D game.&lt;/i&gt;

I'm looking at Silo for modeling and EIAS for the animation.  Maya looks nice, but is way too expensive for someone starting out.  From what I've read, 3D StudioMax is more geared toward games than video work.  I also looked at LightWave, but I'm leaning more toward EIAS.

I'm wanting to use them to create web videos and DVDs.</description>
