I don't think a feed footer would discourage them. I would guess they may have ways of stripping those out. I guess it depends on the software they use, and since I don't use such software, I don't have a great familiarity with its capabilities. And, I think they will steal anything. I don't in any way mean to slight your content, as you do have good content, but I don't think they steal discriminately. I can tell from first hand experience that they'll scrape the bottom of the barrel in terms of content, so long as their keywords are there! So, maybe it is the feed footer.
