Google Likes Me

Despite the fact that I’ve declared Google dead, encouraged people to try Yahoo! (have you tried the Yahoo! Toolbar?) and made many a joke about the low earnings with Google AdSense, Google apparently likes me.

Last year, Nina a.k.a. The Alien Next Door, had a post on Isaac Asimov and al-Qaida, in which she discussed the similarities between Asimov’s Foundation series and al-Qaida.

I linked to it and discussed famous books and prophecies in my post, which included others besides Asimov.

Apparently, that was enough, in Google’s eyes, to make me an authority for the search phrase “Isaac Asimov prophecies.”

Meanwhile, Nina, whose post more thoroughly discussed Asimov, but scarcely used the word “prophet” or “prophecies,” is no where to be found in the top 50 search results.

I think the lesson here is that there is value in having keywords in both your title and your content. Mind you, this particular search term has brought me a grand total of one reader, so I guess Nina isn’t missing out on much. ;-)

LOL! Depends on who that one reader is, Dan! Well, I shall be more diligent in the future regarding what tags I use. Thanks for the tip, dude! Oh, and the prophesy too…
