What Was I Thinking?
Inspired by Bobby digging up an old unpublished post and dusting it off and publishing it, I decided to go through my unpublished drafts and find something to dust off and publish.
What was I thinking?
Seriously, what was I thinking? Here is one draft: “Trust and no choice and hope”. Apparently, I thought that was enough of a summary to remind me what I was going to write about. And, I think that was from just a few weeks back.
What was I thinking?
At the moment, I cannot even recall what I was going to write about. It sounds like it could be a tagline for an X-Files episode, but I’m sure that wasn’t it. I guess I will save it for another day, when perhaps I will remember.
What else do we have? Well, how about a post, titled “Develop Your Imagination,” where it is written: “People often overlook the value of old books, but they do have information that can be quite useful.” I think I’ll save that for another day…
Or, how about “7 Reasons to Rebrand Your Blog,” which is one of my oldest drafts. Here’s what I have:
1. Uniqueness, complete or reasonable unique
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
I also have “Profiting from the Dead,” which actually has a couple paragraphs of text. Maybe I’ll finish that one. But, not today.
I also have Web Trek II, which I started back in February. Oh, but there is so much work to go on that one. I think some of the blogs I have listed may have even gone belly-up since then. So, that’ll be for another day.
What was I thinking?
The draft feature in WordPress is definitely handy, but if you decide to put things off for another day, be sure you have written enough of a description so that you’ll remember what your message was. You may think that you’ll get to it in a day or too and that you’ve written enough of a reminder (i.e., “Trust and no choice and hope”) for yourself, but if you get busy and it’s weeks later before you get to it, you may have no idea what you were going to write about.
The better use, of course, is to save completed posts that you can use on days when you cannot otherwise think of something to write, or when you’re too busy to sit down and blog. That way, too, you can actually take a vacation and schedule posts to appear when you’re not actually around the computer.
It would also be good to get into a routine of writing posts and not publishing them right away. And, whenever possible, write a new post to replace each old draft that you publish. Best yet, stock up on posts. That way, you’ll always have a ready supply of posts and can keep your blog updated even when you don’t have the time or motivation to blog.

Hmmm… profiting from the dead, is that like
posting about missing your dead father & putting adsense all around it..
What exactly is “Uniqueness, complete or reasonable unique?”
Oh yeah- I think “Reasonable Unique” was my friend in college who was a stripper… you know her too, Dan?
Don’t know her. Never heard of her.
And, my profiting from the dead article was completely different from what you’re talking about. Mostly.
I already sold my body to a prominent college and they can do whatever they want upon my passing - I will not care. I currently have 78 unfinished posts, and most are very disturbing! I think I shall refrain from publishing them. I have had several lap dances from “Reasonable Unique”, she is so sleazy…hahaha!
Best to keep disturbing thoughts to yourself. They’re watching you.
