Just a fair amount of noise, but not really too bad. They’re not quite as noisy as the annual cicadas, though they are much more plentiful.

The annual one around here is green and black. I know there are different varieties; I think there’s a 13 year cicada too. But, I’m not familiar with all the different appearances. I’ve only seen the type pictured and the annual one I’ve described.

Words are a bonus. People come looking for the picture, then, WOW!, text too! Bonus!

Nice photo - tho I hate these things. I remember when they invaded in the 70s. I was afraid to go out of my house. No matter. They came down our freaking fireplace!

Yeah, what’s with the words dude? Always the rebel.

I’ve found a lot of them in my yard as well. Not sure what makes them annual or otherwise, but I’m seeing more for some reason. Usually, I just hear them.
