So Much for Thursday Thoughts…
I had a topic in mind, but wouldn’t you know that something would come up to throw a wrench in my plans?
Namely, I can no longer send out eMail. I don’t know why.
All my settings are right. I’ve restarted both the computer I’m trying to send mail from as well as the mail server itself. Still, no go.
Thunderbird is what I have been using. Haven’t made any changes at all. I can receive mail, but I cannot send anything out.
But, I can get on my old computer, fire up Eudora and, presto!, I can send mail!
But with Thunderbird? On the computer I have pretty much everything on now? On the computer I primarily use for eMail? Nope. No can do. Cannot send mail.
So, I’m busy trying to sort this out.
Argh.

I can think of so many reasons why not having email would be cool…
Weird thing is, when incoming eMail is down, you actually miss spam because it’s the one thing that comes in often enough to let you know eMail is working. If that makes sense.
Otherwise, I would like the spam to just go away. Ugh. Even with spam filters, there is so much garbage.
But, not having outgoing eMail is hardly ever cool!
Wow, is your computer infected? I use thunderbird for one of my e-mail addresses
(my highly secretive real one). I use g-mail and have never had a problem with it.
Nope, no infections, otherwise I doubt my other eMail programs would have worked!
I tried Thunderbird, but didn’t like it. It didn’t pull in all my personal folders, so I’m stuck using the web client for Yahoo!, MSN, and Google.
Ouch. Webmail. Years ago, before many people had any kind of webmail, I actually looked into having a webmail application created that could be marketed.
I like Thunderbird. Outgoing mail is working again. Don’t know what happened. Maybe it was a 24-hour bug.
[...] three months ago, I had problems with Thunderbird. It would just fail to connect to the SMTP server, so I couldn’t send eMail. No problems [...]
