Photo Phriday: Mulberry Tree

First time I’ve seen any type of fruit on this tree, which seems to pop up everywhere. Never knew what it was before. But, now I am able to identify it as a Mulberry Tree!
Now, where can I get some silkworms?
Visit Wordless Wednesday for more.

I thought mulberry was a bush. Pfft, what do I know. See what inaccuracies children’s rhymes teach?
Sad thing is I remembered this morning that I’m the one that originally planted Mulberry trees in the yard…
Carolina Biological Supply, that’s where.
Cool. Thanks! And, I can get Luna Moths and Dragonfly nymphs too…
those edible?
Apparently.
Oh man you can get those huge hissing roaches there too.
I imagine there are some fun drinking games and pranks you can
do with huge hissing cockroaches.
Maybe you can check what the college websites have to say about that for us, Dan?
If you make mulberry wine or a pie with your tree- send me some.
I have never tasted mulberries before and I like strange fruits! ;0)
I totally missed the hissing cockroaches. Those are better than the standard cockroaches. And they can live up to five years, so that’s not a bad deal.
I think they only cover pranks involving nudity or near nudity.
I’ve never tasted mulberries before either.
My mom used to make jams and jellies out of the fresh berries in the yard including mulberries until she became a bio-chemist and started buying store bought. Yuke!
