Interesting picture. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those critters.
I don’t see them often, but then again I don’t see many common insects often either!
That gave me the shivers. Happy WW: http://tinyurl.com/627uhc
I don’t think they move too fast, so you probably don’t have much to worry about!
I had around seven big assassin bugs outside my bedroom window. They had taken over a big spider web and were feasting on the left overs and using the web to catch new prey. They are a very interesting species and I always wondered if they bite, but they seem to not mess with people. Great picture Dan!
There are some species that attack humans, but most don’t bother us at all.
What - what’s with the Words??? Actually mines cheating too- there’s words in the pictures… ( I got my photo uploader fixed- yeah).
Wait a minute “Assassin Bug” are you trying tell me something?
Well, doing a post on the Dingbot crossed the line and sealed your fate. The assassin bug works for cheap.
The Assassin Bug works for the Emperor I imagine… at least that’s what I gathered from Star Wars.
Still going on about the Dingbot- eh, I bet your a joy to live with…

My dove never complains.
Great bug shot! Looks a bit scary though.
Thanks! Manual focus is always tricky!
I have never heard of this critter. Doesn’t sound very appealing. Happy WW, just the same.
Bobbie
But, look at his tiny little face. Almost like a puppy.
They have those in Ohio?!
Yes!
Never seen, never want to! Happy WW…
Some species eat cockroaches! Which would you rather have around?
Thanks for stopping by!
OK, now that is just scary. Cool picture, though.
Thanks, and thanks for stopping by!
I cannot stand bug, they are CREEPY!!!!
Assassinate! Assassinate. No, not quite as scary as Exterminate!
Let’s how many of my readers figure out that reference…
I had never heard of this bug before today.
Thanks a lot.
You’re welcome!
I didn’t send it after you. But Michelle may have, seeing how you’re pushing into her antiques territory.
That’s a strange creature. I’d love to see it go up against some of the big spiders we have down here.
I didn’t see him this morning. I hear assassin bugs go north for the late summer. He may be heading to Wisconsin.
[...] therefore post the vintage firefly. Plus, Deborah and JD may not find this fellow as creepy as the Assassin Bug. Then again, that could be a bad thing as I received a lot of comments on the Assassin [...]
