JFK Quote: Where’s It From?
Earlier, I posted my “Blast from the Past: Mix Tape B1.”
Watch this video at 0:46. There is a clip of John F. Kennedy saying, “We should rebuild our military strength not because we want to declare war but because we want to declare peace….”
Does anyone know when and where that speech was from? I haven’t found anything on Google or Yahoo on it. Also, I looked for other videos on YouTube but didn’t find anything.
If you look at his suit, he has a ribbon. I’m wondering if maybe that was a speech made when he was a candidate running for President. The podium also does not appear to have the Presidential seal.
Anyone know from whence it came?

I looked a bit, too, but all that I found was similar material that he used during the 1960 campaign. He pushed the concept of military strength for peace and used Khrushchev as the boogie man.
You’d think it would be easier to find. I even tried the exact quote, and that returned 0 results in Google.
