Slimming Down to Fatten Your Wallet

Even though some 60% of Americans are overweight or obese (as I mentioned last week), many of the individuals within that 60% aren’t comfortable with the fact. You may not want your picture taken or to be on TV because you’re not what you see when you close your eyes and think of yourself. To some extremes, some people may become completely withdrawn and avoid any social interaction they can.

Of course, if health reasons don’t provide sufficient motivation to start some kind of weight loss program, how about financial ones?

Beyond your future health care costs, there are more immediate financial considerations. And, no, I’m not talking about the money saved by buying less food!

I’m talking about putting your photo on your business website!

You see, there are claims that placing your photo on your website can help increase sales! It gives the buyer someone they can visualize and (hopefully!) trust.

If you can increase your sales simply by putting your photo on your website, isn’t that worth a try? Couldn’t you use the extra money?

But, wait!, you say. Weight loss is hard!

But, it doesn’t have to be. You can take small steps to help lose weight. For example, drink a glass of water before a meal. Water has no calories and will help to make you feel full faster, so you’ll end up eating less. Don’t gulp down a soda or beer before a meal; that’s not the same! Soda and beer and other beverages do have calories! Drink water instead. Also, don’t add cream or sugar to your coffee or tea. Or at least reduce the amount you add!
