Light postings today on this blog, and the others.
I was out of town for the day, and after getting home, eating dinner and watching Stargate: Atlantis, well, it’s pretty late now, isn’t it?
Maybe some pictures tomorrow, after I check how they turned out. I used my GPS* camera phone, so the quality isn’t as good as my digital camera. A couple look good on the tiny little screen, but that’s deceiving. Often, you’ll think you have a great shot, only to discover it’s not so good once you see it at actual size.
I have to get used to the way it miniaturizes stuff too. There was a plane taking off overhead, so it was low and looked huge to the naked eye. But, I couldn’t find it in the screen of the camera phone, and ended up with a tiny little half-plane that was cut off. Dang! I knew I should have taken my ____!**
Anyway, hopefully tomorrow I’ll post more about it.
* Technically, it’s a GPS camera phone, but I don’t have GPS service.
** I almost slipped and revealed something.
Personally I like regular Stargate better.
The last camera I owned had 110 film, back in the stone ages. Cameras now are so expensive, and I don’t have a clue which are good, and which aren’t.

What they should have done, and I heard they considered doing, is end Stargate: SG-1 after it’s eighth season. What they would have done then is started a new series, Stargate Command, which would have basically be what we saw of seasons 9 and 10. That would have lowered costs, as they would have been able to sign the actors up at lower budgets than what they were contractually obligated to do with an existing series. At least, that’s what I heard anyway. That would have brought the budget down which would have made it a more profitable show and that might have kept in on the air longer. But, speculation is that the SciFi Channel wanted ten years of SG-1 so they didn’t go that route. Anyway, that’s what I’ve heard.
Stargate: Atlantis is cancelled now, so we’ll have to see how they do Stargate: Universe. Apparently, they want a familiar lead with an otherwise new, young cast. I’d like to see Jonas Quinn back.
My first camera was a 110. My digital camera is a few years old now. At some point, I’d like to get a new one. I like the one I have, but I’d like to be able to take the higher resolution shots the newer ones can do. It’s not easy finding a new model! I looked at the newer versions of mine, but the line ended at one point, and I’m not sure which of the newer models would be it’s equivalent. You know, I’d just like something that’s what I can do now, just at a higher resolution! I’d like to be able to use the same filters and lenses so my investment in those isn’t a loss.

Wow, a 110 camera. I forgot all about those. Man, talk about crappy photo quality. Those tiny negatives weren’t too conducive to large prints.
Maybe, but all you did was stick the 4×6 prints in your photo album.
