Thunderfail Strikes Again!
Almost three months ago, I had problems with Thunderbird. It would just fail to connect to the SMTP server, so I couldn’t send eMail. No problems receiving.
After going through a bunch of hoops doing things that was recommended on the Thunderbird support forums, plus everything else I could think of, Thunderbird continued to be unable to send mail.
Finally, for no apparent reason whatsoever, it started working again. And, it’s been running smoothly ever since.
Until today.
Today, the mail application which I shall henceforth refer to as Thunderfail has done it again! I cannot send mail, though I can receive mail, just like before.
Just like before, the mail server is fine.
Just like before, other eMail programs can send through the same server, from the same computer Thunderfail is on.
Can anyone recommend a good mail client program for the Mac? I don’t like Mail. Preferably, I’d like something just like Thunderfail, except that it would be able to send mail and not lose that ability for no apparent reason.

How about G-mail??
Ha haaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!
No, I don’t want Big Brother reading my eMail!
I like Thunderbird’s features, but it’s so clunky. I currently use Mail, but it’s not the best program out there, I’m sure. I’ll be checking back to see if someone recommends something.
I like Thunderbird, when it works. It’s good when you have numerous eMail addresses, like I do. I don’t like Mail. Right now, I’m stuck using Thunderbird to receive and Mail to send, which is a really clunky way of doing things! Hopefully, Thunderbird will go back to sending again after a couple days like it did last time. As it is, replying to eMail is a pain!!!
I only use gmail and a scrolling list of live incoming email is displayed on my igoogle page. I could careless if google reads my email, I assure you that it’s a quite boring read
I use eMail for business too, though, and I don’t need Google to have any indication of what my sales are. Last thing I need is for Google to try to use my data and compete against me. I wouldn’t put it past them. They have even recently begun to backtrack on their “Do no evil” mantra, saying now that it was never really their corporate policy…
