		<description>That's the way it looked to me too.  And, that's why I bought it.  I was looking for something train-related.

But, after getting it, I don't know.  I started having second thoughts.  I mean, I'm keeping it.  I just started to doubt whether it really was a conductor's lantern.

I've seen similar ones, but so far nothing that's an exact match.  Maybe once I get the rust off, I can see a name or identifying mark I can search for.</description>

		<description>It does look like what could be a conductor's signal lantern.  In my mind I can see a man hanging off the side of a train car in the late evening dusk, holding on with one hand and swinging the lantern to signal the engineer..., for whatever.</description>
