One More…

There will be one more political post, then they’ll (probably) be all done. I’m getting bored with it too, and sick of all the whining. I’ve got another post almost done, but I just keep drifting off, so I need to let it be until I can be in a state of mind to finish it.
As many of you have shared, I’ve been getting tired of it all too. This campaign has gone on forever. They started, what?, last year already with all this stuff? The mid-term elections had ended, and we thought we’d have a break from the political junk for a while, but then they started with the primary ads, way way before the primaries. Oh, that’s right. A couple states moved the primaries up to January. Thanks!
Why can’t we just settle on a single, national primary day? It’s a national election, so why should only a handful of states decide who the candidates will be? We should have one primary day for national elections and be done with it. The way it is, if you’re not among the first states to vote, you don’t really have much of a say in the primary election.
But, anyway, it’s been a long long long Presidential election cycle and I think many people are just sick of it. And tired of all the ads too. I know of some people that will change the channel when a political ad comes on.
On Twitter, I’ve started unfollowing people that go on and on about politics. I also unfollow those that replace their avatars with their candidate’s icon. I support your right to freedom of expression. I also support my right to not have to look at it all the time. So, click. Unfollow. Done. I don’t care who your candidate is. I’m tired of the logos and ads and all that stuff and I’m not going to look at it all the freakin’ time.
And, yes, that means you won’t have to be subjected to more political cartoons and stuff (which I’ve tried to keep “fair and balanced”) when you visit my blog. It’s time to get back to productive stuff because, no matter what the politicians tell you, it’s really up to us to fix things and get them on the right track. You know, us. We the People.

I would really love to see the TAPED polititians!! Ha haaa!!!!!
Seems like this year is stranger and more hyped up with the technologies we have now. You Tube is a giant force - mostly untrue rants and claims.
I like your stance.
Though people are burned out on politics and can’t wait until the election is over, I will continue writing about it - but more about teaching people to take action. It’s during the non-political season that we should be writing our representatives (instead of complaining), not just during the election.
With Obama in office and an extremely liberal congress, this country will be changed into a socialistic super-state. The worse thing we can do is just let congress change the U.S. in an equally horrifying direction as George W. Bush. Remember, Bush and the patriot act has given the president more power than ever, so there’s no telling what will happen with Obama in charge. I will be shocked if he doesn’t win.
My new political articles will be more like my new one, offering something a bit different than candidate support or other mundane rubbish - but much less frequent. I’m burned out on all of it, so I’ll be writing some weird fiction and other Revellian propaganda
I have an RSS problem. As you may know, I have been remodeling my blog. I’ve run into a snag.
When I click on the RSS next to my URL I get a message. I did step 2 and found out that
my RSS feed should be http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/XbeE
NOT http://feeds.feedburner.com/awakeinrochesterrss2 as that icon says.
So I put the correct RSS on my Blog itself, and that seems to be the correct feed.
Do you know how I get the little RSS sign next to my blog URL corrected?
Did you fix it already? It looks like the RSS icon is showing the link to the “corrected” URL you posted.
But, your actual feed address appears to be:
feed://feeds.feedburner.com/awakeinrochester
Isn’t my fee http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/XbeE (?)
I thought that… http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/XbeE
is what I got from feedburner (?) Although the feed you mentioned seems to work too.
When I click on the icon next to my URL I still get an error message from feedburner.
Is that my feed?
I thought that when I went to the feedburner site & put in my URL that the other feed URL came up. The one ending in XbeE
No, it doesn’t seem to be fixed. When I click on the icon next to my blog URL I still get an error message from feedburner.
It should be the one that ends in awakeinrochester or possibly the awakeinrochesterrss2.
The XbeE one is unusual.
Have you logged into your Feedburner account? I don’t know what could be happening, but maybe Feedburner’s Troubleshootize might be able to help you.
One of my blog friends is having trouble with my feed. In his message he is refering to the new Blogger “follow me”. He also has Blogger. He writes..
Hmmmm… I have no idea why my blog doesn’t want to play nice with your feed.
I just tried redoing the link, and that didn’t help.
When I click on your name and post on my blogroll, 1/2 the time it goes to an old post or just the outline of your blog, and the other 1/2 it actually goes to the right place.
I guess that is okay if I manually check your blog. But the problem is that it doesn’t seem to want to pull your blog to the top when you write a fresh post. It seems to be stuck on a post you wrote like 8 months ago.
I have no idea why. Sorry.
If I put “feed://feeds.feedburner.com/awakeinrochester” in my feed reader, all your current posts show up.
I can’t get my feed reader to accept “http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/XbeE”.
That’s odd. I thought that I got that XbeE from Feedburner when I checked it out before.
I went to Troubleshootize just now and it shows “awake in rochester” twice. zero subscribers to one, 10 subscribers to the other. So I guess I have 2 feeds for my blogsite. Is that ok to have?
When I clicked on FeedMedic for each individual feed, it indicated that the feed was fine. No problems.
Hm, is it ok to have 2 feeds for the same blog like that?
Hi,
I’ve done a lot of work and made some progress, but I just can’t put the last few pieces of the puzzle together. Maybe you can see the whole picture.
I changed the URL in my blog to
http://feeds.feedburner.com/awakeinrochester
similar to what you said. It seems to make sense. However, the URL only goes back about a month when I put it in my reader. That is odd. I’m not sure if it’s stable.
According to Feedburner I have 2 feeds for the same blog…
http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/XbeE
http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UXJd
The XbeE has subscribers, the other does not.
I have a very old computer with windows “98. Could that have something to do with it? Maybe feedburner doesn’t support my computer type? At this point I’m just trying to get one good stable feed. Did I mess things up because I changed the info on my blog, yet Feedburner has some other info? Any suggestions?
I wouldn’t think your operating system would have anything to do with it.
Have you tried contacting Feedburner? Maybe they can sort it out for you. I haven’t seen that sort of thing happen before.
