15 Business Ideas that Don’t Require SEO, HTML or PR

In these rough economic times (and even in good times), you may be looking for additional ways to earn some extra money. No doubt you’ve searched online and found countless “opportunities.” Some are scams or almost scams, such as “placing ads” or “stuffing envelopes.” Others are legitimate, but not as easy to succeed at as they may sound. Maybe you’ve tried Internet marketing, but wondering where the “AdSense Millionaires” are when you see your sites earning pennies a day.

Well, if you’re looking for something a little less virtual, here are some real business opportunities for you to look into.

  1. If you like doing stuff that requires power, you could try to start a high profit power washing business.
  2. Or, if you like power tools and some good old-fashioned hard work, plus spending time in the great outdoors, maybe you should look into starting a lawn care business.
  3. Maybe you’d like to do something that would give others a good jolt of power? If so, look into battery reconditioning.
  4. If you’re a little more service-oriented and like kids, maybe starting a child daycare is the business for you.
  5. Like people, but prefer people that have already grown-up (for the most part, anyway), how about running a bed and breakfast?
  6. Don’t mind the clean-up but would prefer not to clean-up after others in your own home? How about starting an office cleaning business and keeping the corporate world clean?
  7. Or, maybe you just like serving food to people? How about starting a catering business?
  8. Maybe you’re a little more creative and would like to focus on deserts? How about starting a cake decorating business?
  9. Like working with something smaller than cakes? How about starting a cookie business from home?
  10. Like arranging sweet things? How about starting your own home-based candy boutique business?
  11. Cooking just not for you? But you still like creatively arranging foods or gifts? How about starting a gift basket business?
  12. Maybe you’re creative in other ways? Do you enjoy making crafts? Perhaps you should start a home craft business.
  13. Into quilts? Consider starting your own quilt shop.
  14. Do your friends tell you that you have some wild and creative cartoons? Maybe you have some great photos? Maybe you’re just good at conjuring up designs on the computer? Maybe you could come up with some cool t-shirt designs? Look into starting a t-shirt company.
  15. Maybe you’d just like to share your love of jewelry and make money doing it? Consider starting your own jewelry party business.

So, there you go. Fifteen opportunities to make some extra money that don’t require you to be an expert at SEO, HTML, PR, CSS or anything else computer or Internet-related.

So which one — or ones — are you going to try?

They all look like too much work to me…, even if they would turn out to be worth the price of the how-to book.

I have the equipment to do the t-shirts, but I haven’t had much luck coming up with designs people want to buy! If you can come up with designs, you can try things out without having your own equipment, just by using CafePress. That was my plan. If things started selling well on CafePress, I’d start making them myself and cut out the middleman! But, no such luck.

I could do gift baskets or maybe a home crafts business (which I sort of do already), but my plate is already pretty full as it is.

Of course, some would say it’s not work if it’s something you enjoy doing!

Dan:

Nice list. If you are doing tattoo t-shirt, you can pretty much make success business. Work with Tattoo people to come up the design …. and you just help them sell online.

You will like it only if you are a tattoo person. I find myself difficult to melt into those societies.

Good tip. Some of the really nice designs require equipment I don’t have. But, I may be able to do something with the equipment I do have. Not yet though. I don’t want to jump into yet another business before I get my main one doing better!

I get along with a wide variety of people that do not mix well with each other.

A child daycare business would be good here. I’ve heard that they have closed one in my area. To bad I’m not crazy about kids. lol

Liking kids is pretty much a prerequisite. I doubt faking it would be very effective either. ;-)

Does the entire list contain all your affiliate links?
Just checking as I can’t see any “full disclosure” accompanying the list.

Yep, all my affiliate links. None of the products are mine. But if you buy anything (LOL! No one ever does!), I get a percentage. Yay me!

I’ve always wanted to have a marijuana/hashish/bong shoppe, but it’s illegal. The government has crushed all my dreams

How about we have a watch television and smoking bongs business together… I hear the government pays out pretty good monthly checks for that kind of work!

OOPS did I say that???

Fine, fine. You all go and do your little television watching and bong smoking job. I will be the person with the great smelling snacks in the vending cart that keeps wandering back and forth in your vicinity. It will be a boon to the economy. Well mine, anyway. ;)

I’m glad y’all can carry on a conversation when I’m not around.

Does that mean my blog has finally “made it” now that other people keep it going when I’m absent?
