Moon of Disillusionment

I like my digital camera, but the one thing that really disappoints me about it is not being able to get a good shot of the moon.
Yesterday, the moon was low on the horizon and quite large and not too bright. Quite moody. It would have made for a great shot, if only I could have gotten it!
Instead, I (and you) will have to settle for this image.

Is that the password … MOON ???
Nope. I sent you the password earlier. Did you get it?
I think it looks fine. Just needs a howling wolf in the foreground!
Thanks, but it’s still disappointing compared to the actual sight.
It got a better picture of the moon than my camera!
Then again, mine’s a cheapo Sanyo Xacti. It works great for video and most picture taking, except at night.
It sucks because there have been some opportune times to take pictures of the moon, especially around the lake.
I bet you’ve missed out on a number of great shots by the lake!
I have an Olympus C3040. I think it was maybe a mid-range model when it was released. Even with a tripod, I can’t get a good shot of the moon. I’ve tried different settings, and the details on the moon almost always get lost.
I got my camera six years ago. There have been newer ones released, but now the entire model line has been discontinued, so I’m not even sure what kind of camera to get now. It would have been easier before; I would have gotten whatever was the current version of the model I have.
Of course, I’m not looking to buy a new camera in the near future, unless I have a sudden influx of money come in.
My digital camera (Sony CyberShot 4.1 Mega Pixels) doesn’t do well for distance shots either. I have been thinking/planning to purchase a more fancy/expensive camera but haven’t found enough subjects to justify the cost.
I can do distance shots fairly well, just not of the moon apparently.
Other than night shots, I’m otherwise happy with my camera. I would like to be able to take higher resolution shots though. Mine is 3.1 Megapixels. Newer models are like 10 and 12.
On top of that, it would be really nice if my future new camera would be able to use the lens and filters I have for my current one. Would hate to have to buy all new ones of those!
I don’t have any lenses or filters for my camera. I guess mine is really an amateurs camera not meant for serious photography.
I got the password you sent, read the post but I wasn’t able to leave a comment on your previous post because it wants a password to comment but there isn’t an input field that I an see.
I know. I can’t find out why either. I checked the WordPress support forums, and some people had similar issues, but they were unresolved.
You live on Tatooine?
Speedcat is cheating… he’s using two different aliases to get in your top blogger list.
Maybe he’s got a split personality.
So that’s how he’s been doing it! Well, I just need to comment more and so do my other personalities.
Your image is much clearer than mine, if you remember my lunar eclipse.
I have pictures like yours too!
*LOVE*
Thanks!
