I don't have any lenses or filters for my camera. I guess mine is really an amateurs camera not meant for serious photography.

I know. I can't find out why either. I checked the WordPress support forums, and some people had similar issues, but they were unresolved.

I can do distance shots fairly well, just not of the moon apparently.

Other than night shots, I'm otherwise happy with my camera. I would like to be able to take higher resolution shots though. Mine is 3.1 Megapixels. Newer models are like 10 and 12.

On top of that, it would be really nice if my future new camera would be able to use the lens and filters I have for my current one. Would hate to have to buy all new ones of those!

I bet you've missed out on a number of great shots by the lake!

I have an Olympus C3040. I think it was maybe a mid-range model when it was released. Even with a tripod, I can't get a good shot of the moon. I've tried different settings, and the details on the moon almost always get lost.

I got my camera six years ago. There have been newer ones released, but now the entire model line has been discontinued, so I'm not even sure what kind of camera to get now. It would have been easier before; I would have gotten whatever was the current version of the model I have.

Of course, I'm not looking to buy a new camera in the near future, unless I have a sudden influx of money come in. ;-)
