Help Me Decide…

I have a little poll here for you but, before I get to that, the first thing you ought to do is pay a quick visit to Beyond the Rhetoric. It’s the blog of Michael Kwan and, if you’re not already a reader, you’re missing out. Michael covers common grammatical errors (just reading those posts can help you sound more polished in your own blog posts or other written conversations—even your verbal discussions), freelance writing and general business information. So, you should really check out his blog here: Beyond the Rhetoric. Don’t worry. I’ll wait…

Okay, now that you’re back, I’m asking for your help.

As many of you already know, I have a nice rubber stamp site, StampAndInk.com. I have a selection of rubber stamps, ink pads and ink refills.

Unfortunately, I seem to have made bad judgments in selecting the stamps to make and sell. Very few of my stamps have been big sellers, so I have a whole bunch of stamps that haven’t moved very well at all, which includes some that I thought would sell like hotcakes. Surprisingly, some of the ones I didn’t expect to sell as well have been the most popular.

In the not too distant future, I will be making another batch of stamps. Since my track record isn’t the best, I am soliciting your feedback to help me determine which stamps I should include in the next batch. Below, you can see the choices.

So, in the comments below, just tell me which stamps you like the best. You can pick one or as many or as few as you like. Your comments will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Cool designs, but I like the attacking alien and the chocolate bar the best.
Good luck on the stamps! Cheers, Kris

In order, I’m liking the Attacking Alien, Monitor Lizard, Underpants, and Jungle Knight. The rest are cool but they would be on my second preference tier.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the plug.

For me, the chocolate bar tops the list, but the jumping frog is probably the most useful for children’s art projects and that kind of thing.

Underpants and chocolate. It doesn’t get any better than that.

I like the sitting frog, alien shooting a gun, underpants and chocolate bar.

I’m not sure what a monitor lizard or jungle knight would signify so I can’t see why anyone would want such specific stamps.

Thanks. You know, I really did think I’d get any votes for the underpants, but put it up anyway. And here there are three votes for that one!

Okay you asked for it so here is more input. :)

I think a lot of scrapbookers sometimes use stamps to help pretty up their layouts. It might be a good idea to scout around some scrapbooking sites and see what kind of designs they are using and come up with one of your own. I know a bunch of scrapbooking bloggers if you want to check their sites/talk to them.

I do do some scouting, though haven’t in a while…

Your stamps are great for guys. But guys in general don’t go around stamping things. I think you should design stamps that are more geared for a female audience. ie. Happy kittens, flowers and yummy cakes and balloons.

Your front page to your stampsandink.com (which is an excellent domain name by the way) should show stamps that are focused on current events. Ie. politics, holidays and other current trends.

There are some images I didn’t show because I was definitely going to include them in my next batch of stamps. Among them are a cat, a teddy bear and a piggy.

By the way, I bet you can’t identify which stamp on my site is the best seller…

I already told you you need female oreintated stamps. When I sell used stamps on eBay floral stuff and Victorian sells the best.

Of the stamps above I like the frog and the underpants- put a frog in my underpants and I am one happy camper!
