From Death There Begets Life
I may have used this photo before, or thought about it. Either way, I don’t feel like looking it up. So, if you’ve seen this before, deal. On the other hand, I did manipulate it a bit, so, even if you have seen it before, it’s almost like new.
Anyway, I am procrastinating again on my intended post. But, with Thanksgiving tomorrow, I don’t think there will be many readers the rest of this week anyway, so I might as well save the meaty posts until next month, which is actually next Monday. See what I did there?
I went looking through my photos again, seeing if I could make a seemingly boring picture into something interesting again. I started with another box, then a dog and ended up with this log.
The original was pretty neat, but I decided I wanted to draw more attention to the sprouting maple tree. I made three layers. On the bottom layer, I left the photo as is. Just the bottom corner is what shows, and that’s the natural color of the ground. The middle layer is the log. I cut out the corner so that the ground would show through from the bottom layer. I adjusted the saturation downward on the log and also adjusted the hue to give it a colder, bluer tint. The top layer is the sprout, on which I increased the saturation to make it pop more.
And, this is what I wound up with:

Coool!
I love working with photos. Weird, I used to cripe about all the photot takin` going on … now I am really interested in taking good pictures, and creating new ones with them. To bad I am not allowed to use the digital camera
Happy Turkinator pants Day DCR
Someday I will figure out what all that stuff means. I can see how the sprout stands out though, without knowing all that. Is it hard to make layers? Do you have to manually outline things?
