Thunderbird is an eMail application. Made by Mozilla, the same group that makes Firefox.

I have my own mail server. It's running. It's working. I can send mail from Mail (Apple's eMail application), but not from Thunderbird. As I said, it's very strange. And, if the pattern holds, it will start working again in a day or two, just like it did the past two times this happened.

Actually, I don't us eMail too often anymore. But, you definitely notice it when you can't send anything! And usually it happens when you do need to send stuff.

I hate when those things we really start to rely on, stop working for whatever reason. I hope they get the problem under control soon. But we won't desert you. Even though you never email anymore. **sniff** LOL. Hang in there!
