I'm going to guess you are testing out something new with your photography. Like with light reflections or something. I don't drink soda much at all anymore but I do keep one of those rubbery grippy things in my kitchen at all times to help open jars and stuff. I think what you are saying here though is that it is not a true "grip" problem (as would be with like a metal cap on a pickle jar) but a short cap that doesn't have enough surface area for you to get a good grip on it to open it.
