I vote this post as my favorite of all time!!!!!

I love dandelions, they were all over our yard when I was growing up in CT. My pops didn't use pesticides on the lawn we kids had to play in the grass, why risk killing the kids along with the dandalions. Plus, our mom would have us pick the dandelion greens and she would, you guessed it, cook them up for dinner. Talk about your living off the land.

sometimes I wish I had my own lawn now, but then I snap out of it....

I like the bright color of dandelions as well, but I don't like them in the middle of my lawn - only certain places. The problem with them is that they take over. But the little purple flowers - wild violets, aren't they? Those are very pretty and I like when they spring up from the cracks in the walkways and stairways.

I paint them ... and sometimes use them as a test to see if "someone" likes butter.

I wish my neighbors would all read this, that way I didn't get those frowns when they walk from their perfectly manicured yards past my poor lawn that has a spot of yellow here and there. Alittle color is nice!
