Is It Possible to Create a Title for a Blog Post that is Longer than the Blog Post Itself, I Wonder as I Type this, Hoping to Come Up with an Extremely Long Title that will Serve to Prove Whether or Not My Postulation is a Possibility or Whether It Simply is Not a Possibility Due to Constraints that the Blog Software May Impose that I’ve Never Run Into Before Because I Have Not Previously Created a Title Quite this Long, at Least Not Insofar as I Can Remember, as This Particular Blog Title Seems Particularly Long to Me and I Remain Reasonably Sure I Have Not Previously Done One this Long, Though I Could Be Wrong But that Possibility is Reduced Each Time I Add a Little More to the Length of this Title Until I Finally Reach the Point at Which I Believe I Can Stop Typing and Declare this to be the End of the Title, Or Ode to Really Really Long Titles and Why I’d Like to Create a Title Longer than the Blog Post Itself, But I Repeat Myself, Or Why I Hope I Don’t Need to Edit this Title Because That Would be a Royal Pain

Fascinating.
Anyway, I am working on a project for a client today so I need to finish that up. Plus, I have to do some other work on a website for a client plus my own sites. On top of that, a thunderstorm is brewing, so I have limited time before lightning precludes me from working on the computer.
So, enjoy the lengthy title. It amuses me anyway.

lol I’ve never seen anyone do that before, so it is definitely a first for me, I do however, believe there is a limit on the length of the url, it might be 256 characters… but I am not 100% sure on that.
There are 1030 characters in that title. 829 if you don’t count the spaces.
So, not sure what the limit may be.
Humm I guess my 256 is looking rather weak, lol. Thanks to our friends at Google, I just did a search… and apparently the maximum URL length is 2,083 characters in Internet Explorer. But I am sure something else must be 256… lol.
WordPress does truncate the URL, so that doesn’t appear to play a role in how long the title itself can be.
256 was the maximum length of a filename in older versions of Windows. I think there are also 256 characters in a 8-bit ASCII.
