Lame Thursday Post
Today is Thursday.
This post is lame.
This is a lame Thursday post.
The post posted today, which is Thursday, is lame.
Lame is this post.
Today is Thursday and this post is lame.
This post is lame on a Thursday.
It will still be lame tomorrow.
Also, it will be lame next week.
This could be the lamest Thursday post ever.

This is my Thursday lame comment. It is most likely the lamest comment you have ever seen in your life. It will be lame tomorrow, next week, etc. No links, nothing useful, I have surely wasted your time.
Today is Sunday. For some it is Easter - a holiday where way too many eggs are slaughtered. Anyway, I wanted to ensure the lameness of that first comment by coming back with something that shows a bit of contrast. In order to stay on topic of the initial blog post, this comment will discuss ways to avoid the dull drums (oh my! excitement already as there is a word/expression I don’t believe I’ve used before on the web, let along a blog - and not so sure I have spelled it properly either) of blogging and how to keep it like that spicy meatball that there used to be a commercial about.
Ehem.
DCR, I fully understand how you feel. I have been blogging for nearly 4 years myself, and things have changed since when I first started. My initial blog was the topic of a heated debate and lawsuit, and it was quite cathartic (ohh! I’m on fire today, another big word) to blog on a daily basis. But at some point, I too hit a wall and it was like that feeling you get when dating someone new. It is really exciting at first but can get somewhat routine and uneventful. You begin to feel like you have already shared most of what you have or know and so you just go home and turn on the TV and call it a day.
Like your relationship with that other person, the relationship with your blog needs nurturing as well in order to stay lively. It won’t be as exciting as the first few posts, but you can keep the love alive and grow it into something much stronger and more mature.
So just how can you avoid dull posts?
1. Look for new books that cover your topic or niche and see if they have any thing different to say about your field of interest. Decide if you agree or disagree with what is said in the books you find and blog your joys or concerns to your readers.
2. Scrounge around youtube for your topic. Today there are videos on just about every topic discussed on the web. Should you not find videos then you have either just hit a gold mine of keywords to attack with video or you should maybe be reconsidering what you are blogging about in the first place. You can embed videos on your blog too which can help keep others there on your site browsing a bit louder. Not to mention, you now have leveraged someone elses efforts and hard work of putting a video together for your personal advantage. You can think of the video like the clown you hired for the kids party. Let him entertain your readers and you can just comment on if you personally like the show.
3. Look for another blogger to start a controversy with. This one can actually keep you kicking for some time if you find the right person.
4. Elaborate on your readers comments with a fresh post. I have found it possible to create an entirely new post based on what someone has mentioned. In order to give that writing it’s own shot of being more productive I will make a totally new post on the subject or side subject, and link it back to the initial post of course.
5. 4 things are not very zen, so I need to add a fifth element here. Did you ever see that movie btw? If not, I highly recommend it.
So, there are some things you can do to keep your blog not so dull. That and get commenters like myself who practically write a whole article for you in the comments.
