Are You Insulting Your Pets

You know what’s insulting?
So many people are unemployed these days and money is apparently spent on stuff like this.
Seriously, don’t we have more important things to do than worry about whether to call our pets “companion animals” or “pets”?
And, who is being insulted?
The dogs? The cat? The bird?
They haven’t complained to me about it.
It’s not like they’re refusing to eat their treats until I start referring to them as “companion animals” rather than “pets.”
Heck, maybe “animal” is insulting. Sounds like something wild or out of control.
Better call them companion non-hominids.
