Substantive Thoughts Resulting in an Unsubstantive Post

I keep intending to write something substantive, like I used to do on a more regular basis, but many times (and you can see how many times) when I sit down to do it, my mind draws a blank and the ideas I had beforehand seem to either slip away or not be as good as I initially though, as sometimes the more you run an idea through your head, the more the point begins to slip away from you and the less interesting and insightful the idea seems to become, similar to how using a word over and over and over again suddenly makes it look funny, as though it’s spelled wrong, when it’s spelled correctly and you’ve just looked at it so many times you begin to think that it just cannot be right, which is sort of the same with an idea as it is with the spelling of a word, which then leads me to be less likely to want to post it because it no longer strikes me as being as important as it did when I was at the start of my thinking, so perhaps you can be thankful that sometimes I over-think things and ultimately decide not to post them because, if you think this post is bad, just imagine how much worse it could have been had I let one of those lesser ideas slip through.

Heh… I have that problem sometimes. So I normally write posts when I do have something to write about, and schedule them for when I don’t. I also keep a list of blog topics and add to it via my mobile phone when an idea strikes me – that helps a lot!
