My {social|public|personal} life is about to get {destroyed|ruined|damaged|demolished|shattered}

If you want to try to scam people out of money, which is definitely not something I recommend, you should probably first learn how to work your scam-spam software.

Otherwise, you end up revealing the fill-in-the-blanks inner workings of your scam-spam software, like this example I received today.

Here is the message subject line:

Re:Your {social|public|personal} life is about to get {destroyed|ruined|damaged|demolished|shattered}

Which is it? My social life? My public life? My personal life? The software was supposed to randomly pick one, I imagine. If it had been set up properly, of course.

It’s like one of those books where you get to pick which way the story goes.

And then here is the body of the message:

{Well|Okay} {i will|i’ll|I am going to|let me|i’m going to} {make it|ensure it is} as {quick and|fast and} short {as possible|possibly can|as it can be},

It is a non-negotiable offer, that being said don’t waste my personal time and yours by {responding to|answering} this message.

Not easy to read, but you can see how many choices they put in to vary things up a bit.

I guess this one would have been a more modest scammer, only asking for $500, $550 or $600. Most I’ve received (from people that know how to configure their software) are in the neighborhood of $4,000, $5,000, $6,000 and $7,000. I guess when you know how to set up your scam-spam software, you can command higher prices. LOL.

You can see where the Bitcoin address was supposed to go (#WAL#), but there was no field to auto-insert my password. Maybe this is a scammer that didn’t know where to find the exposed password lists available online and figured {he|she|it} could scare people into paying without revealing a password.

Who knows.

At any rate, yet another good reminder that these scammers usually have got nothing on you and are just hoping to scare you into sending them money.

Also a good reminder to make sure to use different passwords on different sites.

Also, apparently {scammers|spammers} have never heard of spellcheck.
