Still a Mystery

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Here’s a photo I first posted back on February 13, 2008:

Still have no idea what it was. Do you? Of course you don’t.

No one does.

It will forever remain a mystery.

Out of This World… In 3-D!

Odd Creature 3D

Okay, not real 3-D, but simulated 3-D. You know, the one where you may get a headache after a couple hours of watching it, especially if there’s no original plot and the characters are one-dimensional. Simulated 3-D.

In this case, it’s an anaglyph. That means you need your red and blue glasses. So, go and grab them and take a look at the alien in the picture. “Oh what fun and what surprise!”

Actually, the simulated 3-D on this one isn’t as noticeable, possibly because of the black background or possibly because I’m just learning how to do this.

At any rate, enjoy!

Meet the Super Snookers

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Finally, you get to meet the two mystery characters I mentioned the other day but never showed you.

They are the Super Snookers!

Actually, only one of them is a Super Snooker. The other is his girlfriend. She’s a Snooker, but in a town of Snookers, that’s just the way things go.

Super Snooker was adopted by a Snooker family (not closely related to his girlfriend), and that just adds to the whole nature vs. nurture debate because, well, look at him! He wasn’t born a Snooker but he was raised one and looks like one. Score one for the nurture people.

Super Snooker and his girlfriend are very busy, so you’ll only get a quick glimpse of them as they are walking away. If you’re lucky, they’ll spin your way for a second.

Meet the Snooker Cousins

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Today, you get to meet the Snooker cousins because I created more of them yesterday.

The middle guy is Uncle something Snooker. He’s kind of creepy or weird or something. His wife left him. She left the son too, because he doesn’t fall too far from the crazy tree. Or something. I don’t know the family dynamics yet. I just drew these guys last night.

Then there is Uncle something Snooker’s father, whose the slightly demented brother of Grandma Snooker. Yes, Grandma Snooker was a Snooker before she married Grandpa Snooker. But, it’s okay because they were distant cousins. It’s a small town they live in, but not small enough that there’s too much in-marrying.

So, anyway, here are the Snooker cousins who, as you might imagine, are kind of the dark sheep of the family. But, they live in the same town, so there’s no avoiding them.

BTW, don’t forget to head on over to There, I Fixed It and vote for my “Kludgin’ Dirty” lyrics. Remember, a vote for me will not raise your taxes.

Meet the Snooker Baby

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Well, JD wanted to see a Baby Snooker, so here we go.

In a minute.

First, I think I need to explain the baby’s attitude. And by that I mean he looks a little confused, which is too bad because this is pretty much his permanent look from now on, so he’ll just have to deal with it. You know, it’s like your mother used to tell you that if you make a face like that, it’ll freeze that way. Poor baby. He might have listened to his mother, if he knew who she was.

Which brings us to the point I was trying to make… What we have here is a baby, but we’re not sure who the parents are just yet.

Anyway, enjoy yourself some Baby Snooker perplexed cuteness.

Or maybe his diaper’s wet. I don’t know. We’ll have to wait to find his mother before he gets a change of diapers. I’m not changing him.

Meet the Snooker Grandparents

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Hey, look kids, it’s Grandpa and Grandma Snooker!

And, no, these are not the other two characters I mentioned I had done. This are two new ones I created around lunch time. You’ll still have to wait until tomorrow for the other two.

But, this is the fourth post for today, so enjoy all the updates. Not that they’re terribly exciting, but, look, it’s more of the Snookers!

How cool is that, right?

Oh, so you want to see them? Fine. Here they are:

Meet the Snookers

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Well, after creating that earlier illustration, I figured out it was relatively easy to create characters in that kind of style, so I created some more.

In fact, I created a whole family of them.

Well, a nuclear family. Dad, mom and a kid. Wait… A nuclear family was 2.5 kids, wasn’t it? Okay, so it’s a sub-nuclear family. Maybe the other 1.5 kids didn’t make it into the bomb shelter.

Anyway, I am calling them the Snookers. That’s because they look like billiard balls, but I didn’t want to call them the Billiards, but I think the dad will be Bill. Bill Snooker. Anyway, so snooker is like billiards, so I am calling them the Snookers.

So, meet the Snookers…

The Snooker Family

They don’t dance yet, but they blink. So, at least they are doing something while they’re just standing there.

I also have two more characters created, but you don’t see them here. Maybe tomorrow.

Dancing Bunnies Wearing Shirts that are Orange

Monday, March 15th, 2010

I know. Life without the dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange is rough.

It’s just not the same without them.

But, as they have found their way to bigger and better things fighting crime as the super dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange, we all have to find ways to adjust to life without them.

Well, with Easter just around the corner, we can look forward to bunnies.

In fact, we found some very, very special bunnies. I think you’ll enjoy them and they may help fill the void left by the absence of the dancing monkeys.

Enjoy yourself some dancing bunnies wearing shirts that are orange.

Super Dancing Monkeys Wearing Shirts that are Orange

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

The dancing monkeys really were super, weren’t they?

What will our lives be like now that they will be gone?

It’s hard to believe it’s been a full month since they first came into our lives. Before we bid them farewell, let’s take a look back at the past month.

It all began with the original dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange. And they were, you know, legendary.

Then came the purple dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange and they were awesome. Those were followed by purple dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are pink for Valentine’s Day, which were legendarily awesome.

After that, you just could not imagine things could get any better, but then your mind was blown by the retro dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange.

What could possibly top that? Well, next we had purple dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange and suits that are blue.

That gave the non-purple dancing monkeys pause, so they had to take the day off.

And when they came back, we had drunken dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange, which generated a complaint that resulted in censored drunken dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange.

Then, they went for a change of clothes and you enjoyed watching dancing monkeys wearing shorts that are orange. That was followed up by dancing monkeys wearing skirts that are orange, which displeased the boy monkey.

The boy monkey was fooled again the next day when we had dancing monkeys baring shirts that are orange.

The next day the dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange were paused. But, things picked back up the following day when we had prehistoric purple dancing monkeys wearing skins that are orange.

And then we uncovered some vintage purple dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange.

After that, we exposed some alien dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange. Not to be outdone, our intrepid dancing monkeys became space dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange.

By then, you were wondering where the prehistoric purple dancing monkeys came from, so we revealed a shot of the frozen prehistoric dancing monkeys wearing skins that are orange.

And then you were treated to a flashback of the original dancing monkeys as it was revealed how dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange make life easier.

At this point, the dancing monkeys were becoming full of themselves and saw such a bright future for themselves that they needed sunglasses. Thus, you were treated to dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange and shades.

Then, in the midst of the winter weather, we had dancing snow monkeys wearing shirts that are orange. Jealous of these snow monkeys stealing the limelight, even if just for a day, the regular dancing monkeys went out in the snow and became the snow-covered dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange.

But, they really didn’t have to worry because warmer temperatures resulted in thawed dancing snow monkeys wearing shirts that are orange. The warmer temperatures also meant the regular dancing monkeys got a little sweaty, which resulted in dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange and wet.

And then, at the beginning of this week, they happened upon something radioactive, turning them into radioactive dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange. We watched as the radiation caused them to dance faster, even faster, really fast, really really fast, and, finally, blurringly fast.

And, then it seemed the end would soon be near. That their final days were upon us. After yesterday, it was almost certain they would be no longer with us today. So, when we went to check on them today, with great trepidation, fearing the worst…

STOP… HOLD THE PRESSES…

What’s that up in the sky? Is it a falling banana peel? Is it raining banana peels? Holy cow…

It appears that the radiation did not kill them after all. Whatever it was, it made them faster, stronger, able to leap… er… fly up into the air.

The dancing monkeys now have super powers!

As expected, the dancing monkeys will no longer be with us after today, but they will take on new secret identities and go on to fight crime and corruption as Super Monkeys! (Or maybe Speedy Monkeys or Superb Monkeys or whatever trademark is available. They’ll have to figure that one out…)

Anyway, the Super Monkeys will be out there, watching to make sure no one steals your bananas. In the meantime, whenever they have a free moment, whenever they have a short time without crime, you can rest assured they will continue to dance.

After all, no matter what, the dance must go on!

The end.

Radioactive Dancing Monkeys Wearing Shirts that are Orange Dance Blurringly Fast

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Blah, blah, blah, dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange.

Blah, blah, blah, radiation and radioactive dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange, blah, blah, blah.

Unlike previous days’ dancing monkeys, yesterday’s radioactive dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange that dance really really fast didn’t draw in the traffic.

Maybe it’s time to just put them out of their misery. No traffic equals death sentence, ya think?

But, how would we ever catch them to give them a lethal injection?

Anyway, blah, blah, blah, look at them go now. They’re going even faster than ever before. It’s amazing. It’s stunning. It’s a way to stretch out one lame image the whole week whilst doing a minimum amount of work.

Anyway, blah, blah, blah, they may not be around for much longer. It’s still hard to believe that the dancing monkeys wearing shirts that are orange are still dancing, despite their encounter with the radiation. Blah, blah, blah.

And they keep getting faster and faster, blah, blah, blah.

They continue getting harder and harder to see. While they continue to last, enjoy another shot of them dancing their little monkey hearts out. Blah. As has been said, again and again, and again because I’m at the point where I’m just copying and pasting stuff, still, the dance must go on…
